The message to send a happy customer before you publish what she wrote. Consent first is what separates a testimonial from a fabricated review.

  • The ask, worded so customers say yes — in English and in Hinglish
  • What to keep as your record of her consent, and for how long
  • The privacy rules: first name and last initial, no photo, no number

Which template fits what you sell?

Six starting shapes, one per kind of seller. Each one loads a message in the shape your customers tend to write — then replace every word of it with what your customer actually sent you. The shape is a prompt, not the testimonial. A message you wrote yourself is a fabricated review, which is what the law and this page are both against.

Saree sellers

Colour accuracy and fall are what saree buyers write about, and what the next buyer is anxious about.

Kurti & suit sellers

Fit against the size chart is the thing. It is also the return reason this reassures against.

Jewellery sellers

Finish, weight in the hand, and whether it survived the post. Small parcels, high anxiety.

Boutique & stitching

Custom work is judged on the fitting and on being ready when promised.

Repeat customers

The strongest proof you own: somebody who came back. Worth its own template.

Hindi & Hinglish

Most Indian customers write this way. Translating a real message into English is the fastest way to make it read as copy.

How do you make a WhatsApp testimonial screenshot?

Four steps, and the first one happens before you open this page. Ask the customer whether you may publish what she wrote — a single WhatsApp message is enough — and keep her reply. Everything after that takes about 2 minutes per testimonial.

Paste her message into the first field, exactly as she sent it, in whatever language she sent it in. Translating it into English is the fastest way to make a real review read as a written one. Add your own reply if there was one; a two-sided exchange reads as a conversation, a single bubble reads as a quote.

Pick a template from the 6 above. Chat layouts suit Instagram feed and Stories, the website card suits a product page above the buy button, and the pull quote suits print or a carousel where the chat chrome would be noise at small sizes.

Then download. The PNG is rendered in your browser at 2x scale and nothing is uploaded anywhere, so the customer's message never leaves your phone. Use her first name and last initial only, and leave the profile photo out — the generator uses an initial circle for exactly that reason.

Why do WhatsApp-style testimonials work?

📱 Authentic format

WhatsApp is where most Indian sellers already talk to their buyers, so the format reads as a conversation instead of as marketing copy. Nothing has to be explained about it.

⭐ Specific beats generic

A star rating says a number. A message says which saree, that it arrived on a Tuesday, and that the colour matched the photograph. Specifics are what a reader checks their own doubt against, and they are the part a rating cannot carry.

📸 No editing skills needed

Your real WhatsApp screenshots have status bars, timestamps, profile pics. This generator produces clean, customer-name-only versions you can publish without exposing personal info.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to use WhatsApp testimonials in marketing?+

Yes — if you have written permission from the customer. Under India's Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020, you must (1) obtain consent before publishing, (2) not edit the testimonial to change meaning, (3) not fabricate fake reviews. Best practice: ask the customer "Can I share your message as a testimonial?" before posting. Save their "yes" reply.

How do I get customer permission for testimonials?+

Send a follow-up WhatsApp message: "Hi [name], thanks for your kind words! May I share your message (with just your first name) as a testimonial on our Instagram?" Most customers say yes. Save the screenshot of their consent for your records.

Should I show the customer's full name and photo?+

No. Industry best practice: first name + first letter of surname only (e.g. "Priya S."). Do NOT show their profile photo, phone number, or location without explicit consent. The generator above intentionally uses initial-circle avatars to protect customer privacy.

Where should I post WhatsApp testimonials?+

Highest-converting placements: (1) Instagram Stories with a "Shop Now" sticker, (2) website product page as social proof above "Add to Cart", (3) Meta Ads as ad creative, (4) WhatsApp Status for your existing customer base.

Can I use testimonials from my friends/family?+

No — that's fake testimonial fabrication, illegal under CCPA 2019 (₹10 lakh fine + 6 months prison for repeated violations). Always use real, paying customer reviews.

How many testimonials should I have?+

Aim for 10-20 active testimonials rotating in your marketing. More than 30 starts looking spammy. Refresh every 3 months — old testimonials feel stale, new ones feel current. Mix: 60% positive product feedback, 25% delivery/service praise, 15% repeat-customer mentions.

Should the testimonials be in Hindi or English?+

Use the customer's actual language — translating loses authenticity. Hindi/Hinglish testimonials feel more relatable to Indian audiences. The generator above supports any language including Devanagari, Tamil, Bengali, etc.

What does the output actually look like?

What the generator produces, from testimonials the customers agreed to have published — first name and last initial only, no photographs, no numbers.

Examples are being collected

Nothing is shown here yet because every example has to be a real customer message published with that customer’s permission. Borrowing screenshots to fill the space would be the exact practice this page tells you to avoid. Build your own above — the tool runs in your browser and the download is immediate.
