Artificial jewellery HSN code 8 digit list, and the lines next to it
Heading 7117 has six eight-digit lines on the GST portal, and all six carry 3% GST except bangles of lac or shellac. The rows below the 7117 block are lines sellers mix up with it: clad and solid precious-metal jewellery, real pearl or stone articles, and hair accessories.

8-digit lines: GST portal HSN master (search), read 11 Oct 2026. GST: Notification 9/2025, from 22 Sep 2025. In Schedule IV, 7113 and 7117 are entries 10 and 14 (lac or shellac bangles excluded) and 7116 is entry 13, while 9615 sits in Schedule I at entry 506.
The 7116 lines are the trap for "real stone" sets. A strand of cultured pearls or a gemstone bracelet is 7116, not 7117, though the rate is the same 3%. Hair clips and slides are a different story: 9615 is in Schedule I at 5%, so a clip listed under 7117 at 3% is short by two points.
Artificial jewellery HSN code for imitation and gold-plated pieces
Imitation jewellery and artificial jewellery are the same HSN heading, 7117; the tariff only uses the word "imitation". Sellers search both terms, and some sites print two codes for them. DGCIS chapter 71 has one heading, so a listing titled "artificial" and one titled "imitation" get the same 7117 line (read 10 Oct 2026).
Gold plating does not move a brass or alloy piece out of 7117. The base-metal sub-heading reads "whether or not plated with precious metal", and chapter 71 Note 11 allows precious metal in imitation jewellery "as plating or as minor constituents". A one-gram gold-look necklace on copper is still 7117 19 90.
The code changes when the material does. Natural or cultured pearls, genuine precious or semi-precious stones, or more than a minor share of gold or silver take the piece out of 7117 and usually into 7113. Buttons (9606) and hair-slides, hairpins and dress-combs (9615) are excluded from 7117 even when they look like jewellery.
If a page shows a GST rate other than 3% for 7117, check its date. Pages written before 22 September 2025 quote the older schedule. The current entry is Schedule IV S.No. 14 of Notification 9/2025-IT(Rate).
Which artificial jewellery HSN code to enter on Meesho
Enter 7117 in the HSN field and 3% in the GST field for artificial jewellery on Meesho and Flipkart, and print the same pair on the invoice. The four steps below take one product from the table to GSTR-1.
- Pick the row from the table by material: plain base metal, stone-studded, bangle or German silver.
- Enter 4 or 6 digits by last year’s aggregate turnover: 7117 up to ₹5 crore, 711719 or 711790 above it (CBIC Notification 78/2020–Central Tax, from 1 April 2021).
- Choose 3% whatever the selling price: 7117 has one rate and no per-piece price band (Schedule IV S.No. 14).
- Repeat the code and rate on the tax invoice and in GSTR-1 Table 12 (GSTN advisory).
Worked case: a Meesho supplier lists three products, an oxidised base-metal jhumka set at ₹199, a kundan-look necklace set with imitation stones and a pack of metal bangles. Under ₹5 crore turnover all three go in as 7117 at 3%. A supplier above ₹5 crore enters 711719 for the jhumkas and bangles and 711790 for the stone set.
Checked against our HSN finder
Our HSN code finder returns two 7117 rows from the StitchMagic dataset for an artificial jewellery search: "Fashion / imitation jewellery" and "Bangles, non-precious", both at 3% from Schedule IV S.No. 14. The bangle row carries a note to check lac and plastic bangles separately.
Before you fix a price, run it through the Meesho commission calculator. List it on Meesho with ListMagic: the Chrome extension fills the Supplier Panel catalog form and you press Submit yourself.
Bangles, jewellery sets and hair accessories
Base-metal bangles have their own line, 7117 19 10, at 3% GST. Bangles of lac or shellac are excluded from the 7117 entry in Schedule IV of Notification 9/2025-IT(Rate), so look up their rate on the GST portal HSN search before listing them.
A necklace-and-earring set takes the line that fits its material: 7117 19 90 for plain metal, 7117 90 10 once it carries imitation stones or pearls. Hair clips and slides are heading 9615 at 5% GST, not jewellery. Gold, silver and diamond pieces sit under 7113; the split is on the jewellery HSN code page.
