How to resize signature to 100KB
- Sign in dark ink on plain white paper, then scan it or photograph it straight on in daylight.
- Crop to the shape your form names, such as 3:1 for SSC’s 6.0 × 2.0 cm; if the form gives pixels, set them in the image resizer first.
- Add the crop to the box above, then keep 100 KB or type the limit your form prints (anything from 10 to 300).
- Press Compress & Download and read the result line, which shows the width × height and the exact bytes.
- Press Download signature and upload the JPG, named after your target (for example 100kb-signature.jpg), in the form’s signature field.
Signature size should be maximum 100KB? What to type here
| Form wording or source | What to type, or the official limit |
|---|---|
| “Signature size should be maximum 100kb” | Keep 100: the file is at most 100,000 bytes, which is also under 102,400 (100 × 1,024) |
| “Signature 50 to 100 kb” | Type 80: our 1000 × 400 px scan saved 76,236 bytes |
| “Signature resize 30 to 50 kb” | Type 40: the same scan saved 38,471 bytes |
| “10–20 KB” (SSC CHSL 2026, JKSSB) | Type 18: our 1200 × 400 px scan saved 17,876 bytes |
| SSC CHSL 2026 notice, para 9.6 | JPEG/JPG, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide × 2.0 cm high (a 3:1 shape) |
| UPSC OTRP FAQ, questions 43–44 | JPG/JPEG, 20 KB to 300 KB, 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 pixels, the same as the photo |
| JKSSB applicant instructions | jpg/jpeg, more than 10 kB and less than 20 kB, 3.5 cm wide × 1.5 cm high |
| This page | Box 10–300 KB, default 100 KB; the file is at most the target × 1,000 bytes |

A kilobyte on a form means 1,000 or 1,024 bytes, depending on who built the portal. This tool counts 1,000, so a signature made for 100 KB is never over 100,000 bytes and passes a 100 KB cap on either reading. Pixels are a separate rule: of the three notices above, only UPSC gives the signature a pixel range; SSC and JKSSB give centimetres. For SSC and UPSC in full, see the SSC photo and signature page and the UPSC photo resizer.
Signature KB increase and other upload problems
The form says “signature size should be at least 50kb” and my file is smaller
The compressor cannot add bytes beyond the best JPEG quality at your scan’s pixel size. Our small 500 × 200 px scan stopped at 29,577 bytes whether we typed 100 or 60, under a 50 KB minimum; a 1000 × 400 px scan reached 88,305 bytes. Scan or photograph the signature larger, then type the target again.
The portal rejects the signature as under the minimum
Typing the minimum itself is the trap. A 10 KB target saved 9,297 bytes on our 1200 × 400 scan, under 10 KB on either reading. For a 10–20 KB form type 18; for 20–300 KB, keep 100.
The signature looks stretched or squashed after upload
This tool keeps the shape of the file you add and never crops it. If the form fixes a box, such as JKSSB’s 3.5 × 1.5 cm, crop to that shape first.
The form wants pixels as well as KB
UPSC wants 350 to 1000 pixels a side: set them in the image resizer, then compress here.
100 KB signature size in pixels: our test files
Input
75,914 bytes
1000 × 400 px test signature scan
Saved file
88,305 bytes
1000 × 400 px · default 100 KB target
A 100 KB limit sets no pixel size: our 1000 × 400 px signature saved at 88,305 bytes with the 100 KB target, and every run kept the pixels we put in. It grew because the tool saves at the best JPEG quality that fits. With 40 typed it saved 38,471 bytes. A second scan, 1200 × 400 px, saved 17,876 bytes at 18 KB, 19,742 at 20 KB and 9,297 at 10 KB. Tested on this page at phone width, 29 Oct 2026.
Signature resize online: where the file goes
The resize happens in your browser tab: the signature is redrawn on a canvas on your device and saved from there, and the image is not sent to StitchMagic. The download needs no phone number or sign-in, and you can run the same signature again at another KB as often as you need.
Signature size in KB: questions
What is the 100 KB signature size in pixels?
A 100 KB limit sets no pixel size: our 1000 × 400 signature saved at 88,305 bytes with the 100 KB target. Pixels, where a form wants them, are printed next to the KB.
How do I resize my signature to 100KB?
Add the scan above, keep 100 KB and download: the JPG is at most 100,000 bytes. The result line shows its exact bytes before you upload it.
Signature size should be maximum 100kb: is that 100,000 or 102,400 bytes?
Either way you pass: our file is at most 100,000 bytes, which is also under 102,400. The tool counts a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes, so whichever way the portal counts, a signature made for 100 KB stays under its cap.
How do I increase my signature size in KB?
Rescan or photograph the signature larger, because the compressor cannot add bytes beyond its best quality at the scan’s pixel size. Our 500 × 200 scan topped out at 29,577 bytes, our 1000 × 400 scan at 88,305 bytes even with 300 typed.
What is the SSC signature size?
A JPEG of 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high, in the CHSL 2026 notice. Type 18 here.
What is the UPSC signature size?
A JPG/JPEG of 20 KB to 300 KB and 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 pixels, per UPSC’s OTRP FAQ. Keep 100 here.
What do I type for signature resize 30 to 50 kb?
Type 40: our 1000 × 400 signature saved at 38,471 bytes.
Can I resize my signature on my phone?
Yes: the tool runs in a phone browser with no app, and our tests ran at phone width.
