Meesho seller account requirements

For sellers checking whether they qualify before starting the registration form — the full requirements list, and the two things that actually stall an application.

A Meesho seller account requires a mobile number, a bank account in your registered business name, a pickup address, and — for most categories — a GSTIN. There is no minimum business size, no mandatory entity type, and no published minimum catalogue size. The account itself can be created in one sitting; what actually takes time afterward is getting a catalogue approved.

The full requirements checklist

Shorter than most guides suggest. Meesho is built for volume onboarding, and the requirement list reflects that — it asks for what settlement and compliance genuinely need, and nothing beyond it.

RequirementWhat Meesho actually asks forOptional or mandatory
Business entityIndividual, proprietorship, partnership or company — all acceptedAny is fine; no minimum entity type
Mobile numberA number you will keep — it becomes your Supplier Panel loginMandatory
GSTINA regular GSTIN, or the no-GST route in eligible categoriesMandatory unless your category is GST-exempt on Meesho
Bank accountIn the registered business or proprietor’s name, for settlementMandatory
Pickup addressSomewhere staffed during courier collection hoursMandatory
CatalogueAt least one product catalogue, reviewed before going liveMandatory to go live, not to register
Minimum order value / stockNo published minimum — small catalogues are acceptedNot required

Checked against supplier.meesho.com, September 2026. Meesho publishes fewer hard requirements than most sellers expect — that is deliberate, not a gap in this list.

The two requirements that actually block people

Everything on the checklist above is a form field. Two items are where a genuine application actually stalls.

Name mismatches. The business name on your GSTIN, your bank account and your registration have to agree. A proprietorship trading under a shop name, with a bank account in the owner’s personal name, is the single most common reason a registered account gets stuck at payout — not at signup, but the first time settlement tries to reach a mismatched account.

Catalogue approval, not the account itself. Registering the account takes minutes. Getting a first catalogue approved is the actual gate to going live, and that depends on image quality and correct category tagging more than anything on the requirements list.

Do you need a GSTIN?

Not always. Meesho accepts suppliers without a regular GSTIN in eligible categories — mainly certain apparel and home categories under a specific turnover threshold. What you lose on that route is Meesho Ads, which are unavailable without a regular GSTIN, so visibility runs on organic ranking alone.

If you already have a GSTIN, use it regardless of category — there is no downside to registering with one, and it opens every feature. The full mechanics of the no-GST route are covered on the dedicated guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to sell on Meesho?

A mobile number you will keep as your login, a bank account matching your registered business name, a pickup address staffed during courier hours, and a GSTIN for most categories (some categories accept sellers without one). There is no minimum business size or mandatory entity type.

Can an individual meet Meesho seller requirements without a company?

Yes. A sole proprietor easily meets every requirement on the list — Meesho does not require a private limited company or partnership. Most suppliers on the platform register as individuals or proprietorships.

Is a minimum order quantity required to open a Meesho account?

No. There is no published minimum catalogue size or stock requirement to register. What is required is getting at least one catalogue approved before the account can go live and start receiving orders.

What documents satisfy the Meesho requirements checklist?

In practice: your GSTIN certificate (or eligibility for the no-GST route), a cancelled cheque or bank proof matching the registered name, and your mobile number for OTP verification. The step-by-step registration guide covers exactly where each is entered.

Why is my Meesho account stuck even though I meet all the requirements?

Almost always a name mismatch between your GSTIN, bank account and registration, or a catalogue still pending review. Meeting the requirements checklist gets the account created — it does not guarantee the catalogue clears review or that settlement reaches a mismatched bank account.

Meesho revises its onboarding requirements periodically. Checked against supplier.meesho.com in September 2026 — confirm current specifics in the Supplier Panel before applying.
